Biography

Karl has worked in the FE/Apprenticeship sector for over 20 years gathering a detailed knowledge of funding and compliance at a micro level. Having worked at a provider, government funding body and with RSM, Karl has a detailed insight into how these areas interrelate and what the pitfalls are of data, funding and evidential requirements. Karl works with a wide range of clients including the ESFA, FE Colleges, Universities, Employer Providers, Local Authorities and Independent Training Providers. His key role is delivering assurance work for the ESFA and providing assurance, training and advisory support to our clients.

Having worked in Colleges and the Learning Skills Council prior to joining RSM, Karl has an extensive background of the FE and Apprenticeship sector. He has worked on a number of high-profile investigations for the funding bodies as well as providing assurance services for a cross section of clients. Karl is regularly sought out by clients and non-clients alike to support them due to his reputation of providing clear and concise advise on funding and data.

Karl is a regular speaker at variety of workshops and conferences across the FE and Apprenticeship sector specialising in funding and data compliance and assurance. He is also part of the ESFA audit forum that works on the design of the assurance approach and also provides input to the development of the PDSAT software that is a key element of the assurance approach.
