Biography
David is a partner in the employer solutions team in Gatwick office specialising in all aspects of employment tax compliance and advice. He is a specialist in all employment tax aspects of the off-payroll working rules (IR35). He also has particular expertise in issues, such as implementation and operation of salary sacrifice, employment status, termination payments and dealing with HMRC disclosures and reviews, including advice on employment tax aspects of senior accounting officer (SAO), Know your Customer (KYC) and traditional PAYE audits.
David advises clients across a range of sectors and industries with particular focus on consumer business, aviation and transport and the public sector including social housing. A key feature of David’s approach is to establish and maintain a strong relationship with his clients and he firmly believes that you cannot advise a company in a sector properly until you know the sector.
Prior to joining RSM in March 2017 David worked for a big four firm for nearly 20 years advising on employment tax issues. During this time he built and led a successful team in the Gatwick office and also led the national employment tax public sector/social housing and aviation and travel teams. He regularly presented at industry specific events and also liaised with the HMRC policy team around sector specific points of interest.
