Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has made two key hires in its transactions tax team led by James Hunt, appointing Alistair Haley as partner and Andrew Parker as director, both based in London.

Alistair has nearly 25 years’ experience as a tax advisor, specialising in large corporate and private equity transactions. He brings strong cross-border M&A experience and a deep understanding of the structures used by larger funds. At RSM he will provide tax structuring and due diligence advice on PE investments across a broad range of industries, as part of the wider deal services offering.

Prior to joining RSM, Alistair was a director with KPMG in Australia and then a partner in the UK, where he led the London financial services M&A tax practice and subsequently broadened his remit to private equity, supporting various types of investors on acquisitions, disposals, IPOs and mergers.

Andrew brings over 30 years’ experience in UK and international corporate tax. He was previously a partner at Deloitte, advising large corporates, PE funds and real estate investors on all aspects of M&A transactions. This includes structuring acquisitions and disposals, leading due diligence assignments, and refinancing transactions.

Alistair and Andrew’s appointments will support the transactions tax team’s strategic growth plans and further build RSM’s share of the mid-market deals space.

New transactions tax partner at RSM UK Alistair Haley, said: “I’m excited to be joining at a time when RSM has experienced a surge in market share, and amid an uptick in deal activity over recent months. This is a huge opportunity, especially in London, where many UK PE funds are headquartered. I’m keen to apply my skills and knowledge to attracting new clients, particularly those handling complex structures across US and European markets.”

New tax director for RSM UK Andrew Parker commented: “It’s an ideal time to be joining RSM UK, given the recently announced partnership with RSM US, and an increase in demand for M&A services from a variety of investors. I’m looking forward to working with Alistair, James and the team to reinforce RSM’s position as a leading advisor on mid-market transactions.”

James Hunt, partner and head of transactions tax at RSM UK, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome both Alistair and Andrew to RSM. Their wealth of experience working on complex, cross-border transactions for many years in Big Four firms will immediately add capability and capacity to the team to deliver on the increasing demand we are seeing for our services.”
