About James Strang

James Strang is the Glasgow office tax partner. He is an experienced tax professional who has worked in practice for over 25 years. James originally trained as a chartered accountant (ICAS) with Andersens, before going on to qualify as a chartered tax adviser as well.

In addition to supporting clients with all their tax compliance requirements, James also supports both domestic and international corporate groups on complex transactions and tax-efficient reorganisations. He also works across tax due diligence and oversees several tax audits.

When asked about returning to RSM, James said:

'I was thrilled to have the opportunity to return to RSM as a partner, especially given how far the firm has come in the intervening 15 years since I was last part of the team.  On my return, I am delighted to have inherited such a highly motivated, diverse, and supportive tax team. With respect to the broader RSM team, I am incredibly pleased with regards to both the increase in scale and the increase in the breadth of expertise that has already been achieved. I look forward to helping the firm continue to grow and firmly cement itself as one of the premium service providers in the professional services market.'

Outside of work, James loves keeping fit, from running to HIIT and resistance training. James is a keen supporter of Arsenal Football Club and is a season ticket holder. Beyond that, James loves travelling as much as possible with both family and friends.
