RSM UK appoints new employment tax partner to lead on Fair Pay

Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has today announced the appointment of Chris Robson as employment tax partner and national Fair Pay lead. As a chartered accountant and tax adviser, Chris brings over two decades of experience advising employers on complex pay, equality and compliance issues. These areas are under increasing scrutiny as the Government’s Fair Work Agency enforces new employer rules from next April.

Chris is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading advisers on Fair Pay, having advised many of the UK’s most recognised brands. He specialises in coordinating employment tax with employment law, with particular expertise in national minimum wage compliance, holiday pay advice, gender pay gap reporting and equal pay. His career spans senior roles at PwC and Deloitte, where he built market-leading offerings in Fair Pay and worker rights.

Chris will lead RSM’s Fair Pay offering within RSM’s employer solutions practice, working alongside the specialist employment legal team to deliver integrated advice on pay compliance and employment rights. His focus will be on supporting large and mid-market employers across a range of sectors such as retail, hospitality, health, manufacturing and logistics.

Chris Robson, Partner and National Fair Pay lead, RSM UK, comments: “I’m excited to join RSM at a time when Fair Pay is under greater scrutiny than ever. With the launch of the Fair Work Agency now months away and enhanced worker rights as a result of the Employment Rights Bill, employers need to be confident they are compliant, have a clear remuneration strategy and systems which align to policies. I look forward to helping them achieve that, and to further developing RSM’s Fair Pay capability.”

Martin Cooper, Partner and Head ofEmployer Solutions, RSM UK, said: “Pay strategy and compliance is increasingly high on the agenda for employers. Our appointment of Chris, a market-leading expert on Fair Pay, reflects our commitment to providing clients with specialist advice in this critical area. His vast experience, relationships and ability to navigate the complexities involved in this area will strengthen our ability to support organisations as they come to terms with new legislation and the forthcoming Fair Work Agency.”
