His previous industry roles include head of audit quality, methods and platform at Lloyds Banking Group, and group chief internal auditor at Shawbrook Bank, where he led the internal audit function. Prior to this, he also held senior roles at Deloitte and EY, where he gained extensive experience advising financial institutions on governance, assurance and internal audit transformation.

At RSM, Chris will focus on leading the financial services internal audit business in London and the South East and bringing a pragmatic, straightforward approach to improve client outcomes. He will utilise his expertise to help clients to respond to regulatory change, implement effective risk management and achieve sustainable growth within the financial services sector.
Chris Mayo, partner at RSM UK, said: “The best assurance functions don't just identify risk; they help organisations make better decisions, respond confidently to change and support long-term success. I look forward to working with new clients at RSM, helping them to build governance and assurance that goes beyond meeting regulatory requirements by adding real value to the business.
Alex Tait, head of risk and governance at RSM UK, added: “Chris’ appointment is a real coup for the firm’s financial services risk and governance team. His blend of in-house experience and understanding of the advisory landscape place him in a strong position to support clients with navigating the ever-evolving regulatory landscape of financial services and implementing effective risk management frameworks.”
