About Tom Farnhill

Role description Tom is an Associate Director in our financial accounting and advisory specialists team, working with national and international clients. His role focuses on providing advice and solutions for complex accounting queries, with a particular specialism in UK GAAP and IFRS.

Tom initially spent five years in the audit team, where he qualified as an accountant. This wealth of experience allows him to see engagements from both management’s perspective as well as what the audit procedures will require further down the line.

Tom’s key areas of expertise include IFRS/UK GAAP transitions, leases, business combinations and share-based payment accounting. His expertise spans a range of sectors, with a particular focus on manufacturing and hospitality industries.

He also has extensive experience in presenting technical content at seminars and training sessions.

Asked why he is passionate about his job, Tom says:

“I just love solving a puzzle, and that is perhaps the simplest way I can express why I am passionate about my job. I take pride in my ability to provide solutions to problems and being that ‘go-to’ person.”

Outside of work, Tom enjoys running and is a yoga enthusiast. He is also a self-declared “film-buff” with a passion crossing many genres, from the James Bond series to the works of David Lynch.
