About Lisa Macpherson-Fletcher

Lisa Macpherson-Fletcher is a private client tax partner who works closely with families to develop their businesses, with a laser focus on developing holistic succession plans. These plans are designed to be flexible to enable change over time as the family, its aims and its businesses evolve.

Lisa provides specialist inheritance tax and capital gains tax advice and coordinates additional technical expertise from within RSM or from external legal advisers, where required.

Her comprehensive tax advice is balanced with a strategic overview, ensuring that the practical implications of business governance and family dynamics are also addressed throughout the succession process.

Lisa has extensive experience working with landed estates and specialises in trusts for tax planning and asset protection purposes. She has in-depth knowledge of agricultural property relief and business property relief.

When not working directly with families, Lisa provides accessible, UK-wide tax training and technical updates to clients and intermediaries.

Lisa is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), a qualified member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and a Society of Trust and Estates Practitioner (TEP). She also serves as Treasurer and Scotland committee member for the Society.

"The UK tax system is now so unbelievably complex that it’s often difficult to know where to start. My aim is to provide a pathway through this complexity. Working with families themselves and their advisers, we develop a strategy that provides the family with knowledge and certainty. My purpose is to remove worry and uncertainty for clients who are wondering how to navigate the technical and practical waters of succession planning."

Lisa lives in rural Perthshire with her husband, two children and various pets and horses. Where time permits, she is a keen swimmer and musician, often serenading (or perhaps deafening) the family with her piano playing.
