About Kate Aitchison

Kate Aitchison is a Private Client Partner in RSM’s Manchester office. Kate has 20 years' experience in advising individuals, families and trusts. She has a particular focus on working with entrepreneurs and management teams, and heads the Private Business group in the North West.

Kate joined RSM in March 2020 following 15 years experience working with private businesses, individuals, trusts and partnerships.

Kate particularly enjoys working with private businesses and leading the support RSM can offer to find solutions to the various issues they face.

She also has a particular focus on working with business owners as individuals around succession planning and transaction support, making sure that both the business and the shareholders are in great financial shape for the future.

Kate advises on a wide range of issues, including:

• Income Tax.
• Capital Gains Tax.
• Inheritance Tax and succession issues.
• Investment structuring including trusts and family investment companies.
• Tax residency issues.
• Private business issues, e.g. cash extraction, restructuring, demergers, incentivising employees.
• Transaction support and planning for shareholders pre and post deal.

Kate is a member of the Association of Tax Technicians and Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Kate is an experienced commentator in the press and has been featured in the Telegraph and The Times, and presenting on our Cut to the Chase: Budget webinars.
