About Joe Barry

Joe is a Partner in RSM’s Restructuring Advisory team, leading the Birmingham practice. He works with lenders, corporates and investors to navigate periods of financial stress, bringing clarity, pace and control to complex situations.

With nearly 15 years’ experience in restructuring and turnaround, Joe supports clients across the full lifecycle of distress, from short-term liquidity and cash flow stabilisation through to operational restructuring, independent business reviews and formal insolvency processes. His work is grounded in helping stakeholders protect value, make confident decisions and move forward at speed.

While sector agnostic in approach, Joe has deep experience across construction, real estate, retail, automotive and maritime, and has led a number of high-profile and complex engagements, including Homebase, Bulb Energy and Arcadia Group.

Joe is known for his calm, pragmatic leadership in high-pressure environments, aligning stakeholders, simplifying complexity and driving decisive action when it matters most.

He is a Fellow of the ICAEW (FCA), JIEB qualified, and holds an Executive MBA (Distinction) from Warwick Business School.
