About Adrian Steller

Adrian Steller is RSM's Head of VAT Technology within the indirect tax practice, with over 25 years' experience in indirect tax and tax technology. He works with clients to identify and resolve VAT data and process issues across their systems and processes and helps them select, and implement the technology needed to fix or optimise them.

As VAT legislation grows more complex and tax authorities move towards real-time reporting and e-invoicing, Adrian's focus is on helping clients get VAT right at the point data is created, rather than correcting it downstream. He leads the growth of RSM's VAT Technology practice and is embedding VAT technology expertise across the firm's wider tax and consulting businesses.

Adrian started out in indirect tax in Australia with the Big Four, initially in an indirect tax advisory role which included a secondment to London. He later moved into industry, where his interest in tax technology developed through working with enterprise resource planning systems (ERPs), data manipulation, tax determination, and compliance process automation.

In 2008, he returned to consulting to specialise in tax technology as one of the founding members of Ryan’s UK tax technology practice. During his time at Ryan, he led numerous multinational tax technology implementations and process improvement projects across a range of technology solutions and systems. Adrian joined RSM in 2026 as Head of VAT Technology.

Away from work, Adrian is a keen photographer. He enjoys the creative outlet photography gives him, and the places it takes him.
