Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has appointed Grant Morrison as its new office managing partner in Aberdeen.
Since joining RSM in 2021 as an audit partner, Grant has led and built the firm’s audit practice in Aberdeen, and also leads RSM’s oil and gas sector team across the UK.
Grant trained with a Big Four firm in Aberdeen before spending the next 25 years specialising in the energy sector. He has previously worked with a wide range of listed, private equity, government and privately owned businesses, mainly in the oil and gas sector. Grant has spent much of his career in Aberdeen, and has also spent almost 10 years working in the US and Middle East.
In addition to his energy specialism, Grant also has experience in several other sectors including engineering and construction, manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, automotive, transportation and logistics, and FMCG.
Grant takes the reins from Andrew Forsyth, who joined RSM in 2014 and has grown its Aberdeen office to 50 people. Andrew remains a partner at RSM and continues to manage his long-standing owner-managed business clients.
Commenting on his new role, Grant Morrison said: “I am proud to take the reins as managing partner in my home city of Aberdeen, and I’m looking forward to leading our team and building on the strong foundation and client base we have in the region. Aberdeen represents a strategic priority for RSM as we continue to invest and grow the team here. Our previous managing partner Andrew has led the office through a period of significant growth and development, and leaves us very well placed for the next chapter.”
Ross Stupart, regional managing partner in Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Grant as our new managing partner in Aberdeen. His understanding of the upstream oil and gas and supply chain sectors, domestically and internationally, makes him ideally placed to lead and grow RSM’s presence in Aberdeen for existing and future clients.”
