RSM advises on pre-pack sale of vital NHS supplier saving 375 jobs
Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has advised on the pre-pack sale of Spark Medical Limited and Medi 4 Ambulance Services Limited, saving over 375 jobs and securing ongoing supplies to the NHS.
Spark Medical Limited is a provider of independent ambulance services and event medical cover across the UK, employing 97 members of staff and numerous subcontractors and operating up to 50 medical vehicles daily. In August 2025, Spark Medical Limited acquired Medi 4 Ambulance Services, a provider of a broad range of patient transport and pre-hospital care solutions across the south of the UK.
The combined business has recently faced increased cost commitments and ongoing capital expenditure alongside a reduction in revenue, creating pressures on cash flow. This led to a creditors’ Administration application being issued on 19 January 2026, with Lee Lockwood and James Miller of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory acting as proposed administrators.
The Joint Administrators were able to identify a potential buyer for Spark Medical Limited and Medi 4 Ambulance Services and a successful pre-packaged sale was completed on 6 February 2026. This deal has ensured the continuity of critical medical and ambulance services across communities, as well as securing a large number of jobs for both employees and subcontractors.
