With an increasing regulatory focus on achieving an effective system of governance, we have remodelled our RSM ESOG Benchmarking Tool.
The new suite of questions includes consideration of elements of the General Code and, the current emerging risk landscape together with some best practice examples of good governance.
What is the ESOG Benchmarking Tool?
It is a series of questions on key governance areas for trustees or your pension scheme managers to complete. Topics are aligned to the sections as they appear on the General Code, including risk management, administration and, cyber management.
The questions can be completed periodically, enabling trustee boards to evidence their progress over a period of time, which can be used to support their Own Risk Assessment (ORA) requirements under the General Code.
What are the benefits of completing the ESOG Benchmarking Tool?
The tool helps trustee boards identify ways in which they could improve the way they operate and provides feedback on how effectively their scheme is performing in comparison to a peer group of similar sized schemes. This informed feedback should help trustee boards improve their strategic decision-making processes and provide a focus on addressing any shortfalls in a proportionate manner.
Every trustee board that completes the ESOG Benchmarking Tool will receive a tailored discussion and report which benchmarks them against other anonymised pension schemes.
In addition, all completions will receive insights on key trends identified and as we increase participants a wider benchmark across the pensions sector.
Please note all analysis/benchmarks are anonymous. No data will be shared wider on completion, please see our privacy policy here.
