Phillip heads our London restructuring practice.
He has specialised in restructuring since 1980 and has experience across many sectors, including retail, property and construction, financial services and banking, insurance, manufacturing,commodities and international trade, engineering and agriculture. As well as projects in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Phillip has also worked on international projects in countries including the USA, Cayman, Europe, Thailand and Indonesia.
He is well-known in the restructuring marketplace, having acted both on major insolvencies and as an expert witness on a number of high profile cases. Cases on which he has recently acted include the administration of Reader’s Digest UK, which culminated in a very successful sale to Better Capital, and the members’ voluntary liquidation of LOCOG – the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Phillip is President of R3 (The Association of Business Recovery Professionals), the trade body representing UK insolvency practitioners.
Prior to this he served as vice-chairman of the Investigation and Insolvency Licensing Committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, was a member of the Professional Standards Board and the Institute’s representative on the Joint Insolvency Committee.
