About Phil Coleman
Phil Coleman specialises in audit and assurance and financial reporting assignments, working with a range of private and public organisations. Two areas of specific interest are the education sector and internationally active businesses – the common thread being their importance to the success of the British economy. Phil is known for the clarity of his advice and the empathy and understanding he brings to his work from a wide and varied background.
Phil’s career has encompassed audit, financial reporting, due diligence and risk management and this broad background contributes to all of his work with clients. He continues to work with a number of academy trusts alongside private-equity owned manufacturing and businesses serving the retail sector. Current clients include British Business Bank plc, Community Academies Trust and the Justrite Group. Between 2007 and 2013 Phil played a lead role in the development of relations with the rest of the RSM international network.
Phil is the firm’s National lead on funding assurance audits, working with a range of public and private entities to provide assurance to funding bodies on the use of funds by recipients. Funding streams include Innovate UK, Regional Growth Fund, AMSCI and UKRI in the UK and a number of European funding streams. Phil is an authorised First Level Controller for Interreg projects.
