About Paul Newman

Paul Newman is an Audit Partner and RSM’s Head of Industries. He is responsible for developing the firm’s industry strategy in the UK and leading our team of sector specialists. Paul oversees the development of the firm’s industry activity, ensuring we provide valuable insights to our clients. He is also responsible for ensuring industry knowledge and expertise is spread across our business, paving the way for the next generation of sector leaders and strengthening the firm’s capabilities. 

Paul formally led the firm’s Leisure and Hospitality group in the UK and has been a Partner at RSM for over 25 years. Paul spends a significant amount of time in the market with operators, banks, private equity houses and property agents to bring first-hand experience and insight on trends and KPIs.

Paul joined the firm in 1986, becoming Head of our Leisure and Hospitality group in 2012 and our Head of Industries in 2024. 

As an Audit Partner, Paul acts for a number of branded, multi-site operators in the UK and overseas with a particular personal interest and focus on the London eating, drinking and wider leisure scene. He also has significant experience and expertise in advising private equity backed businesses and understands the unique challenges and opportunities they face.
When asked what he enjoys about his role at RSM, Paul says:

I love leading a team of talented and knowledgeable experts, while retaining my passion for supporting clients, particularly within the leisure and hospitality sector."

Outside work, Paul’s passion is exploring new cuisines, whether in his own kitchen or the vibrant London food scene. He also likes to travel, the start of the winter ski season being an annual highlight. Keeping fit is also a daily priority, through yoga, cycling and personal training. Paul has been happily married to Talitha for over 20 years and they have two teenage daughters.
