About Matthew Rose

Matthew Rose is a partner, specialising in monitoring trustee services. He has acted as monitoring trustee on behalf of the UK's Competition and Markets Authority and the European Commission and has experience of monitoring a range of structural and behavioural remedies, CMA initial enforcement orders, and other regulatory processes.

Prior to joining RSM, Matthew was a solicitor in an international U.S. law firm. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent more than 12 years advising on UK and EU competition and regulatory law, acting for clients across a broad range of industry sectors including digital markets, software, technology, telecommunications, energy and infrastructure, life sciences, sports and defence.

Matthew has expertise in advising on regulatory aspects of complex cross-border transactional work, working closely with regulators across the world including the Competition and Markets Authority and the European Commission on merger control matters, as well as advising on the UK’s national security regime.

During his legal career, Matthew undertook an eight-month secondment at the Office of Fair Trading (the UK competition regulator, now the Competition and Markets Authority) during which he provided legal advice on several competition enforcement cases.

Matthew is a solicitor admitted in England & Wales (non-practising) and holds dual citizenship (UK and Ireland).
