About Matthew Foy

Matthew Foy is a Director in RSM's Restructuring Advisory team, specialising in Financial Services restructuring and lender advisory assignments. He helps lenders, private credit funds, regulated businesses and other stakeholders navigate complex situations ranging from contingency planning and business rescue through to wind-downs and formal insolvency processes.

Matthew is particularly known for supporting clients as situations move down the distress curve, combining commercial strategy, operational execution, stakeholder management and regulatory experience to deliver practical solutions and controlled outcomes.

Whilst he specialises in Financial Services restructuring, his experience extends across a broad range of sectors and includes successful business rescues, trading administrations, accelerated business sales and formal insolvency assignments.

He has significant experience advising lenders and regulated Financial Services businesses, including complex loan-book reviews, contingency planning assignments, lender-led restructurings and the wind-down of major lending platforms, including Lendy Ltd and Century Capital Partners.

Away from work, life revolves around his family, particularly Shan and their young son, Rory. Matthew supports Chelsea, enjoys cooking, particularly smoking meat, and is a keen but distinctly average runner. He remains convinced his steak rivals most restaurants and starts each year promising himself this will finally be the year he takes up golf properly.
