About Jonathan Nulty
Jonathan has worked in and with all tiers of local government over the past 35 years, from financial management trainee up to Director, and then in consultancy.
He led budget disaggregation of Humberside CC in the 1996 LGR and advised Norfolk authorities prior to the 2008 LGR. Jonathan is fully CIPFA-qualified. His local government career saw him work in all tiers while rising to Director level. In 2002, Jonathan was instrumental in the establishment of shared services between Adur & Worthing Councils – still seen as a blueprint for effective shared services for Councils.
He also worked with the then ODPM Strategic Partnering Taskforce, assessing shared services and sharing best practice.
An authority in public sector change, Jonathan has authored several thought-pieces on shared services and efficiency in organisations.
I’m passionate about helping organisations become the best that they can be, both in terms of having a robust and sustainable strategy, and by putting risk management at the front and centre when looking at what they want to achieve.
Using my experience and skills as a facilitator, I feel that I can get under the skin of a client and act as an extension of their team, sharing their aims and values.
In a parallel career, Jonathan is also a well-known chef, cooking in people’s homes, performing cookery demonstrations at food festivals and running a range of street food stalls. He is also billed as the UK’s only truly singing chef.
