Biography
Joel leads RSM Consulting’s business transformation solution as well as the firm’s digital and data practice. For the last 25 years, he has been a strategic advisor to the C-suites of both FTSE, private companies and charities, supporting them to build future-fit businesses. Joel works across a range of sectors including, consumer, industrial, energy, financial services, technology and professional services.
Joel helps leaders navigate the investments they need to disrupt and thrive in their chosen industry, through evolving their capabilities in, people, processes, data and systems. He is a firm believer that in our digital age, business change is an evolutionary journey rather than a single, large transformation. He is passionate about working with leaders of the organisation to develop unique journeys made up of multiple stages of maturity evolution that deliver tangible outcomes and value on route to their vision.
Joel uses his experience to provide insight and practice in, operational strategy, operating models, change, organisation design, talent, process, data and systems.
Joel was previously a partner at PwC and EY, where he helped them build and lead global transformation consulting solutions.

I love spending my time with my team and my clients, exploring and navigating their future world of work and life, especially now in a digital economy. Specifically, I’m curious to how we as a collective society (and hence my Red Cross involvement) continue to build cultures based on values that deliver regenerative outcomes that are also based on sound commercial principles. Producing outcomes that truly balance the opportunities and challenges of our world and leave it in a better place for the next generation’
Outside of my consulting work, I’m a non-executive director (NED) for the British Red Cross and have two purpose led family businesses - Aquian which provides physio and rehab at-home for post-op knee and hip replacements and Bumphaus which offers pre and post-natal Pilates for mum’s with anxiety.
Outside of work I’m a family man who loves walking my three dogs ideally with at least one of my three kids. Alternatively, escaping for some creative solitude as an artistic photographer. My art can be found at @joelsegalphotography on Instagram or at www.joelsegalphotography.com.
