About James Roberts
James Roberts leads our prudential risk and governance team and has over 15 years of experience advising financial institutions on prudential regulation and related matters. He works with banks, building societies and investment firms in the UK and internationally.
James supports clients by delivering a wide range of prudential risk advisory engagements across all three lines of defence. These include technical and commercial advice on new and existing prudential rules and standards such as the UK Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR), Basel 3.1 and the Investment Firm Prudential Regime (IFPR). In addition, he regularly supports clients with advisory projects that involve creating regulatory documents and submissions on both an outsourced and co-sourced basis.
More broadly, James works with chief risk officers and heads of internal audit, delivering risk reviews and technical internal audits. His areas of focus include capital management, credit risk, Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) and regulatory reporting.
More widely, James provides regulatory and accounting advice for transactions and group reorganisations in the sector, including diligence and structuring support to private equity firms, banks and asset managers.
