Biography
Irfan is a partner in the London corporate tax team. He has over 15 years' experience, with a focus on:
- advising on structuring of real estate funds;
- distressed debt M&A transactions undertaken by UK and Pan-European real estate;
- distressed debt funds covering office, retail, residential, student accommodation and logistics, and
- distressed debt portfolios secured on commercial and residential properties.
He has been involved in a large number of high profile transactions in the UK as well as in the European real estate market for leading funds and institutional investors.
Irfan joined RSM in October 2019. He previously worked at PWC in the real estate tax team for nearly 14 years. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax.
Irfan regularly advises on inbound, outbound and cross border transactions by funds and investors and has a broad understanding of the key European holding company regimes. He also holds an Islamic finance qualification and has represented his previous firm on the HMT/HMRC Islamic finance working group to advise on the changes to the Alternative Finance Arrangements legislation.
