About Helen Hord

Helen Hord is an audit director, with over 25 years’ experience specialising in auditing pension schemes. Helen joined RSM in 2015 and is based in our Gatwick office. Helen forms part of our National Pensions Group senior leadership team.

Helen’s current portfolio consists of around 30 schemes from assets of £50m to over £2bn.

Helen has a keen interest in governance and has developed our governance benchmarking tool which allows schemes to compare themselves to our RSM benchmark.

Prior to joining RSM, Helen was with a Big Four firm for 17 years. She is a member of the PRAG DC working party and runs RSM’s Pension Manager Forum (PMF). Helen is passionate about enhancing member communications and looking at ways to enhance member engagement.

Helen enjoy the people element of her role, working with her teams to provide a high-quality service to clients and working with trustees to help them navigate the ever complex pensions industry.

'For me, being an auditor is so much more than looking at the numbers. I feel a strong sense of responsibility towards the trustees, pension managers and the members of the schemes we are involved with. There is always something going on in the pension’s world - we set up the PMF to provide a safe space for pension managers to discuss pertinent matters of the moment, providing insight and advice wherever we can.'

Outside of work Helen a mum to three daughters and loves getting involved with community projects. She also enjoy singing and baking (the latter of which her team are often grateful!).
