About Francesca Merlini

Francesca Merlini is our International Growth Director and a member of the RSM UK Board. She leads the International Growth Programme, assisting clients at all stages of their journey – from international expansion to scaling operations – by providing a global perspective and delivering integrated, cross-border solutions.

As a native Italian and fluent French speaker with extensive cross-border experience and a deep understanding of European markets, Francesca also heads our France and Italy Country Practices. She provides strategic guidance to help companies navigate the complexities of international growth and operations.

In addition, Francesca leads our national deal origination team, advising business owners and management teams on maximising value ahead of company sales and fundraisings, as well as supporting acquisition strategies.

Having learned Mandarin and lived in Shanghai, Francesca began her career at a boutique investment bank specialising in China cross-border transactions. This focused on facilitating Chinese capital entering the European market and helping European businesses access the Chinese market.

Outside of work, Francesca loves cinema, discovering great food and adventure travel. A former semi-professional basketball player in Italy, she now offers enthusiastic sideline advice at her husband Pierre’s games, which he mostly appreciates.
