Dan Mindel

Biography

Dan is a partner in the restructuring advisory team. He is a highly qualified financial restructuring adviser and insolvency practitioner with over 25 years’ experience. His recent focus has been on advising trustees and corporate clients on defined benefit pension schemes.

Dan has a broad range of experience leading teams advising large groups, mid-market companies, trustees, lenders, private equity, and other stakeholders on restructuring, insolvency and special situations mandates across multiple sectors.

Most recently, Dan has advised on defined benefit pension schemes in relation to merger and acquisition situations and stressed and distressed scenarios where there are major working capital issues and risks to the survival of the company. 

Dan is recognised by clients as being practical and pragmatic as well as being cool-headed and considered. He excels in stabilising crisis situations, enabling mutually acceptable solutions to be reached, working with, and gaining the confidence of boards of directors, lenders, trustees, and other key stakeholders. 

Before joining RSM, Dan qualified as an auditor at BDO, he has worked within the restructuring team at EY and as a managing director at Cardano, a boutique pension covenant advisory firm. 

‘I am driven by helping my clients through complex and often stressful situations, being a guiding hand in circumstances that they are not used to being in. I have a strong sense of fairness and equitability and I strive to both strongly advocate for my client whilst carefully listening to and understanding the positions of other stakeholders.’

When not at work, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and children in particular travelling to different countries. He is also a keen golfer and avid supporter of Arsenal.
