About Chris Barrett
Chris Barrett is a Consulting Director in our Accounting and Financial Reporting team based in Newcastle. He works closely with owner-managed, family-owned and private equity backed businesses, helping them navigate the opportunities and challenges that come with growth, change and succession. Acting as a trusted adviser to shareholders and management teams, Chris supports businesses through acquisitions, restructuring projects, financing events, corporate governance matters and periods of commercial uncertainty. He is passionate about building long-term relationships with clients, helping them make informed decisions and providing practical commercial advice that supports sustainable success for both the business and its stakeholders.
Chris has spent his career advising entrepreneurial and privately owned businesses across a wide range of sectors, working closely with business owners and management teams at every stage of the business lifecycle. He has extensive experience supporting clients through acquisitions, ownership transitions, succession planning, funding discussions and strategic growth initiatives. Alongside his client-facing role, Chris works collaboratively across RSM's audit, tax and consulting teams to ensure businesses receive joined-up advice tailored to their objectives. He is known for building strong relationships and providing practical solutions during both periods of growth and more challenging trading environments.
"What I enjoy most about my job is building long-term relationships with business owners and management teams and becoming a trusted adviser they can turn to when important decisions need to be made. Relationships are hugely important within our teams – knowing what we do and who to go to when help is needed is a key part of my daily life at work – and invariably we always have someone that can help…bringing the “yes we can” attitude to life and ensure that we’re absolutely Client First in everything we do."
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and keeping active. He spends more time than his wife would like playing golf and watching Newcastle United.
