Biography

Ben leads RSM UK’s consulting performance improvement and turnaround service line. He has 25 years’ experience helping companies improve profitability, working capital and cashflow. He has worked across multiple industries and has in-depth experience in manufacturing and industrial segments; particularly automotive, aerospace, engineering and metals.

Ben works across the following three broad areas:

  • turnaround situations - helping companies identify operational changes to reverse performance decline, develop implementation plans and negotiate required support with stakeholders;
  • performance improvement situations - working with management teams to identify cost reduction, efficiency and operating model changes to improve profitability, working capital and cashflow; and
  • transactions - working pre-deal, post deal and pre-disposal to help identify and deliver value creation opportunities, integration and carve out.

Prior to RSM, Ben worked in advisory functions with KPMG and across delivery roles in corporates including IMI PLC, where Ben was director of strategic projects; delivering strategic planning, cost reduction, operating model change and acquisition integration across their global operations.

Outside of work, Ben has a busy family life usually revolving around various sporting activities with his three children. Ben has played and coached rugby for many years, although he’s now more likely to be watching rather than playing. Ben also enjoys tinkering with classic cars, usually trying to figure out why they won’t start again!
