About Ashley Barlow
Ashley Barlow leads RSM consulting’s technology due diligence and CIO advisory focus within business transformation. Ashley has over 25 years of experience as a CIO, CTO and as a C-Suite technology adviser helping businesses grow, navigate technological change, and transform.
Ashley’s areas of expertise include solving complex problems for clients across fast-growth start-ups, middle-market businesses and global multinationals. Ashley supports his clients with technology planning, investment, and business alignment, operational performance improvement transactions support, cost reduction, strategic sourcing and change management.
His sector experience includes but is not limited to consumer markets, travel, public sector, media, technology, and life sciences.
In transactions support and technology due diligence, Ashley helps clients across the transaction life-cycle and is a firm believer in the value of modern technology solutions to uncover, unlock and protect deal value. In his role as CIO advisor, he helps technology leaders address their most complex opportunities and challenges with a focus on whole-of-business alignment and customer centricity to achieve the right balance of technology support for human organisations.
Ashley’s previous roles in industry include CIO, CTO and leadership positions at Virgin, McCann Erickson and Topjobs.net. He has also helped build three digital business for sale (Online recruitment, Final-mile logistics (click & collect) and Theme Park and Attraction ticketing). Ashley’s experience also includes as a former partner at PA Consulting and over a decade at EY helping to grow teams and capability across transactions support, CIO advisory and emerging technologies.

Outside of work, Ashley and his wife have five children and a lively Cockapoo initially named ‘strawberry snowflake’, now known as ‘Poppy’. Ashley lives in the Cheshire countryside where he can be found walking (or chasing) his dog around Delamere Forest.
