Biography
Jacky is a VAT Director based in RSM’s Reading office. Jacky has over 30 years’ experience advising clients over a wide range of UK and international VAT and indirect issues. Recently this has had a particular focus on the post-Brexit impact for UK and overseas businesses, and the EU VAT changes. She has undertaken many client reviews, advised on due diligence and Senior Accounting Officer reporting, and is used to managing HMRC enquiries.
In dealing with HMRC, Jacky is able to draw on her experience as an Executive Officer for HM Customs and Excise at the start of her career. She went on to work with several Big Four firms, including four years in the US.
When asked why she enjoys her role, Jacky says:
“I really enjoy the problem solving aspect of VAT consulting, and helping those unfamiliar with VAT, such as US businesses, to navigate UK and European compliance requirements. I enjoy collaborating with cross-service line teams both nationally and internationally, and helping our junior team develop professional services skills.”
Outside of the office, Jacky enjoys keeping fit with regular gym classes, especially Body Combat, and has a love of travelling. Jacky also enjoys volunteering with SmartWorks, a Queen’s Award charity that helps unemployed women back into the workplace.
