RSM, the leading audit, tax and consulting firm, has picked up the award for Organisational Fundraiser of the Year at the Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards (ANSAs), for their significant contribution to the blood cancer charity over a period of eight years.
RSM partner Stephen Berger picked up the prestigious award on behalf of the firm at a ceremony held at the Tower of London on Thursday 22 November. Guests were treated to a canape and drinks reception at the event, which was hosted by author and TV presenter Lucy Siegle.
The ANSAs are held annually to celebrate, recognise and thank the outstanding supporters who keep the pioneering blood cancer charity moving forward. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges from Anthony Nolan, chaired by the charity’s Chief Executive, Henny Braund.
RSM started supporting Anthony Nolan in 2010 after Sharon Berger, the wife of Stephen, was diagnosed with leukaemia. RSM has since taken on a string of impressive challenges, including its ‘Tour de Baker Tilly’ cycle event and have also funded critical areas of the charity’s lifesaving work, including the volunteer courier programme, which enables stem cells to be transported from donors to patients in need of lifesaving transplants.
Speaking about the win, Martin Rodgers, senior partner at RSM, said: ‘We’re delighted to have received Anthony Nolan’s Organisational Fundraiser of the Year Award. We have worked closely with Antony Nolan for many years and we are tremendously proud to support a charity which makes such a transformational difference to save people’s lives. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the whole team at Anthony Nolan for their tireless work, and we look forward to offering our continued support.’
Henny Braund, Chief Executive at Anthony Nolan, said: ‘RSM is a hugely deserving winner of this award. Their extraordinary support and passion for our lifesaving work epitomises the ethos of our charity, which is built on one person directly helping another.
'We are incredibly proud of all the other winners and nominees at this year’s Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards. They have all gone above and beyond in their commitment to the charity. Between them they have raised vital funds, recruited the lifesavers of the future, shared stories to generate awareness, campaigned for change in Parliament and volunteered countless hours to make it all happen.'
