RSM takes leading role at London Food Tech Week

RSM will host a panel of leading food tech investors at this week’s London Food Tech Week, an annual week-long initiative spearheaded by YFood, the UK’s leading driver of food tech innovation.

Panellists will discuss the burning issues faced by the tech industry and how innovation can remedy the issues affecting the Eating and Drinking Out industry all at 4pm on 23 May at Hawker House in London, SE16.

‘The Investor’s View’ panel will comprise Charlie McVeigh, leading hospitality investor; Ashton Crosby, managing director and co-founder at Capdesia, and: moderator David Blacher, partner and head of technology and media at leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM.

With rising business rates, food & staff costs and increasingly fickle customers with high expectations the challenges facing the food industry cannot be underestimated. RSM chair David Blacher will look to reveal the investor mindset. Is tech a solution or a distraction? How confident are they in the hospitality sector? How have they developed their investment mandates to reflect current market dynamics and where do they see tech solutions in their own investments?

Nadia El Hadery, Founder and CEO at YFood, which organises London Food Tech Week, said: “We are thrilled that David is chairing the Investors View panel on Thursday. The session promises to spark some lively debate on the role tech can play in enabling the hospitality to thrive. At YFood we are all about facilitating connections between the right people and we think this panel is the perfect platform for the community to hear directly from investors and pose the questions they’ve always wanted to ask.”

David Blacher at RSM, comments: ‘We’re delighted to be sponsoring YFood’s London Tech Week – a fantastically relevant initiative to raise awareness of the rapidly changing demands on global food supply by an increasingly stretched society, and debate the issues and innovations that will help us adapt to cope with those pressures. I look forward to chairing this group of renowned experts in their field during what is sure to be a thoroughly engaging and insightful session.’
