RSM moves up the charity audit league table

RSM has moved up from sixth to fifth place in Charity Finance's annual list of the top 40 charity external auditors.

This is the second consecutive year that the audit, tax and consulting firm has moved up the league table of firms ranked by audit fees.

The Charity Finance audit survey, which is now in its 27th year, includes data from 1,175 charities, with a combined income of almost £30bn. The survey is closely watched by charity finance directors and auditors.

The survey respondents rated RSM particularly highly for charity expertise, with 100 per cent of RSM clients saying that the firm's expertise was 'good', placing the firm in joint second place overall.

In total, 81 per cent of RSM's clients judged the firm's overall service as 'good' rather than average or poor.

None of RSM's clients judged the firm to be poor in charity expertise, corporate social responsibility or overall service.

Nick Sladden, RSM's head of charities, said: 'I'm delighted that RSM has moved up the rankings for the second year running. This is testament to the hard work of all of our charity auditors across the country.

'It is also particularly pleasing that 100 per cent of our clients rate RSM for our charity expertise. This is, I hope, a reflection that we add value that goes beyond that of a standard statutory audit.'
