RSM invests in new outsourcing hub with senior hire

Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM is to establish a new financial shared services hub based in its Belfast office as it looks to enhance its national outsourcing practice.

To support this expansion, RSM has appointed Suzanne Willmott as the head of shared services for outsourced finance and accounting. The move is part of RSM’s extension of its core outsourcing services to provide large UK and global companies with a new, highly automated approach to finance function outsourcing – helping to bring greater efficiencies and add real value to clients.

Suzanne is a prominent shared services professional with over 20 years’ experience implementing and managing shared services centres for leading financial and professional services organisations including Pearson, and Allen and Overy; and consulting on large scale technological change programmes within roles at PwC and Helm Corporation.

Ian Sadler, head of outsourcing at RSM, said: ‘Suzanne’s appointment is a pivotal step forward for our outsourcing offering, and the evolution of the finance and accounting outsource industry. Our shared service hub in Belfast will have a technology-rich processing capability to enable RSM to support a growing portfolio of large and international businesses with a full range of back office accounting and global compliance services. This underpins our client partnering arrangements in the UK and worldwide.’

Suzanne Willmott added: ‘Our shared services hub will draw on the rich talent pool in Belfast and combine cutting edge AI, automation and robotics to deliver outsourcing in an innovative way. It is hugely exciting to have this type of operation based in the UK as we can deliver onshore capability to clients; and offer flexible working opportunities for tech-savvy, skilled professionals.’

Richard Gardiner, RSM’s office managing partner in Belfast, said: ‘Investing in the shared services hub here in Belfast not only enhances our existing outsourcing offering across the UK, but it reaffirms our commitment to the local economy – generating skilled jobs in a thriving, technology driven industry.”

RSM’s national outsourcing team consists of more than 100 people providing clients with a range of domestic, inbound and global management services, supported by complementary technological platforms to streamline operational activity such as invoicing processing, management reporting and global compliance.
