Alyssa Stephen won the prize for coming top of the class in her Financial Accounting stage 2 modules achieving an A-grade for both. She has now gone on to complete a summer placement in an Independent Financial Advisory firm before starting her third-year university placement next week at a Big Four firm.
To mark the achievement, a prizegiving ceremony took place at RSM’s office on Queens Road in Aberdeen with RSM’s Andrew Forsyth and Morag Matson, BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance programme lead from the Aberdeen Business School at the university to award Alyssa with a cheque for £500.
Andrew Forsyth, RSM’s office managing partner, said: ‘It’s great to see young talent emerging from a local university, which is why we partner with Robert Gordon University to help support young people looking to break into the accounting, tax and advisory profession.
‘Alyssa is clearly a promising future talent who has excelled in her recent financial accounting exams; and we wish her all the best for her future career, whatever she decides to do.’
Morag Matson added: ‘Alyssa has had a very successful year and it is great to see this recognised. I would like to thank RSM for sponsoring this prize and I’m delighted that the prize will be offered again next year.’
