RSM associate director receives prestigious risk fellowship

An associate director at RSM in Scotland has been awarded certified fellowship status by the Institute of Risk Management, in recognition for over a decade of outstanding work within the field; an accolade known as the highest achievable within the profession.

Richard Mackie works within the risk practice at RSM and also chairs the Scottish risk management group for the Institute hosting key events exploring key issues within social housing, healthcare and other sectors.

The prestigious honour comes alongside the news that RSM has been successfully shortlisted for the Housing Association National Accountancy (HANA) Awards 2017 in the category of Best Risk Management. The shortlisting is yet further recognition for Richard Mackie and specifically for his innovative development of a bespoke risk management and assurance framework intended to assess and control risk across client businesses. The approach includes the use of the RSM Insight4GRC software solution to increase efficiency in collation, assessment, reporting and monitoring.

Speaking on behalf of his colleague and his work, RSM Risk Advisory Partner Head of Insight4GRC Matt Humphrey said:

'Richard is deeply committed to risk management and to serving his clients, with career achievements that can be held up as exemplary within the field. The fellowship and HANA recognition is thoroughly well-deserved and I congratulate him on his recent success.'

‘His innovative approach to risk management has not only had a significant impact on the healthcare and social housing sector, but this framework has much wider application which has the potential to help many more businesses in the future.’

The HANA Awards winners are due to be announced at a lunchtime ceremony on Thursday 6 July at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in London, and are set to be attended by over 350 social housing finance professionals. The full shortlist can be found by visiting the HANA Awards website.
