Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Keith Ward as its national head of social housing, effective immediately.
Keith Ward has 25 years’ experience advising social housing organisations within his role at RSM and in previous roles at two Big 4 firms. Keith, an external audit partner, is also a prominent adviser in the sector and specialises in social impact mapping, risk management, due diligence, board governance and IDA support.
In his new role, Keith will lead the 100-strong national social housing team as the firm seeks to become the undisputed leading advisers to middle market businesses across the UK, with a strong focus on delivering strategic business transformation advice and assurance, including IT strategy, fraud advisory and contract management advice.
Keith inherits the role from Gary Morton who recently retired after 15 years in post. The move also sees the promotion of John Guest who will take over Keith’s previous role as RSM’s head of social housing in the North West.
Keith Ward, head of social housing at RSM, comments:
‘After recent years of divergence, social housing associations and the government are now much more aligned, which is driving much-needed investment, delivery of new homes, innovation and efficiencies.
‘I inherit a strong, dynamic team and market leading practice which is testimony to Gary’s leadership; and we wish him all the best for his retirement and thank him for contribution. A lot has changed in the sector through Gary’s tenure as issues such as board assurance, effective governance and business and digital transformation become more prominent.
‘Despite a sense of optimism across the sector, there are still key risks looming and I look forward to working with our growing portfolio of associations to maximise the opportunities and navigate the challenges.’
