Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Hannah Catchpool as its new national head of academies, effective from the 1 May.
Hannah will lead RSM’s UK academies sector group, building on the firm’s existing presence in the market acting for a range of academies.
Hannah brings over 15 years’ audit experience working with business owners, trustees, governors and charity management teams to the role, with particular expertise advising academies of various sizes, further education colleges and sixth form colleges as well as independent schools and charities.
Partner Mike Cheetham, who led the national academies practice for over three years, will continue to work closely with Hannah and the sector group to grow the practice and its offering, with a particular focus on risk assurance and internal audit.
Hannah Catchpool, national head of academies at RSM, said:
‘The education sector is facing a period of change with funding cuts, more schools converting to academies and increased consolidation. The strength and depth in our team allows us to support academies - from compliance work right through to high level advisory work – and to help them navigate the ever changing landscape.
‘The move reinforces our commitment to the academies sector and I look forward to working with Mike and the 100-strong sector team to strengthen the practice and support more academies across the UK.’
