RSM's corporate finance team has advised shareholders on the successful sale of Essex-based Mountain Healthcare to London-based private equity house Literacy Capital plc.
Mountain Healthcare, headquartered in Finchingfield, is a leading provider of healthcare services across the UK. The business specialises in providing Sexual Assault Referral Services and Police Custodial Healthcare, supporting the interface between healthcare and the criminal justice system. With around 350 employees operating a 24/7 service offering, Mountain Healthcare has built a strong reputation in the market for delivering high-quality service outcomes through its two key business propositions.
Two of the four original Mountain Healthcare founders, Vanessa Webb, Medical Director, and Gary Green, Business Development and Corporate Compliance Director, will remain with the business, while two further shareholders have exited.
Literacy Capital will support Mountain Healthcare by strengthening the management team and Board. Chris Sellers, formerly the Group Business Development Director at Capita and former Managing Director of Capita’s Health division will become Executive Chairman and Interim CEO. A new CFO will be named in due course.
Mountain Healthcare has achieved year on year growth since 2014 and in FY18 delivered more than £15m of revenue and £3m of profit.
The Mountain Healthcare shareholders were advised by RSM partners Sukhi Johal and Stephen Orriss, with support from Davin Kandola and Christian Hitchen. Tax advice was provided by Melanie Reed and Nigel Gleaden.
Sukhi Johal, Corporate Finance Partner at RSM in East Anglia said: 'The shareholders have built up a very successful business focused on providing high quality healthcare services in the criminal justice system, and Mountain Healthcare is now one of the largest employers in this part of East Anglia.
'This investment by Literacy Capital will strengthen the management team and give the business the perfect platform on which to enter its next stage of growth and diversify its service offering.'
'We were delighted to be able to advise the Mountain Healthcare shareholders on this deal, and we wish the business well in the next stage of its development.'
