Our M&A and private equity team has advised on the sale of Chilli IT to Celerity, a portfolio company of private equity firm BGF.

The client

Founded in 2003, Chester-based Chilli IT, a leading IT specialist and IBM Gold Partner, is a managed service provider to its global customer base.

Celerity has established itself as a market leader in delivering intelligent cybersecurity, data protection and data visualisation services for companies. The acquisition takes the combined business turnover to more than £40m and expands the team to 95 members. This marks Celerity’s first acquisition since receiving an investment from BGF in 2021 and enhances its service offerings and creates new cross-selling opportunities, driving significant growth for both companies.

Our solution

We were engaged as lead adviser to assist the shareholders in finding the right partner for Chilli IT to continue the company’s growth journey. Celerity was selected as the preferred partner for the company, given the cultural and business fit, and the opportunities that Celerity will bring to Chilli IT.
