DC governance statement webinar

In February, Karen Tasker and Helen Hord led a joint webinar for trustees, providing them with a practical overview of their obligations when producing the governance statement.

Below we have shared the webinar highlights, with particular focus on the trickier areas of legislation.

Webinar highlights included:

  • reference to a template to assist Trustees in respect of the governance statement legal requirements;
  • clarification of the requirements in respect of earmarked schemes and schemes in wind up;
  • reviewing and signing off the governance statement at a minuted Trustee meeting prior to the signing of the financial statements; and
  • the importance of keeping documentary evidence and a clear audit trail for review by TPR if required.
