About the Role
We're looking for a Head of Workplace Operations to lead the delivery of RSM UK’s Estates and Facilities Strategy across our UK office portfolio. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring our workplaces provide an exceptional experience for employees and clients while supporting the firm's long-term growth ambitions. You will lead the strategic and operational management of estates, facilities and workplace services, driving operational excellence, workplace transformation, service innovation, and continuous improvement across the portfolio. In addition, you will support procurement activity relating to business operations, ensuring the firm benefits from strong supplier partnerships, commercial value, and effective service delivery.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide clear reporting and insight on estates and facilities performance, workplace utilisation, supplier performance, investment priorities and operational risks. Success in the role will be measured by your ability to deliver the workplace of the future, creating safe, efficient, and high-performing environments that enhance collaboration, productivity, and wellbeing for our employees and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and operational management of RSM's estates, facilities and workplace services across the UK office portfolio.
- Deliver RSM's Estates and Facilities Strategy, ensuring our workplaces support business growth and provide our employees and clients with the workplace of the future.
- Drive operational excellence across all estates and facilities functions, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and service enhancement.
- Provide senior leadership with clear reporting, MI and strategic insight relating to estates, facilities, workplace performance, and operational risks.
- Oversee procurement relating to business operations, including supplier selection, tender processes, contract negotiations, performance management and strategic sourcing initiatives across estates, facilities and workplace services.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, procurement activity and cost optimisation across estates, facilities and workplace operations, ensuring robust commercial governance, value for money and alignment with wider business objectives.
- Use workplace analytics, data, and operational performance metrics to enhance service delivery, space planning, and workplace experience.
- Ensure RSM's workplaces provide an exceptional experience for employees, clients and visitors, reflecting the firm's brand, culture and values.
- Lead estate planning, workplace transformation, office moves, refurbishment projects, and future workplace initiatives across the portfolio.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, suppliers and key internal stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing estate, procurement and workplace operations team.
- Support our ongoing commitment to environment and sustainability through managing management information and engaging with inhouse experts on impact reporting
What We're Looking For
Senior leadership experience within estates management, facilities management, workplace services, corporate real estate or related built-environment functions.
- Proven experience leading complex, multi-site corporate office portfolios and workplace environments.
- A strong track record of developing and delivering estates, facilities or workplace strategies aligned to organisational, objectives.
- Experience providing executive-level reporting, business insight, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership teams.
- Demonstrable success driving operational excellence, workplace transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing outsourced service providers and strategic supplier relationships, driving accountability, performance and value for money.
- Experience supporting procurement, supplier governance and commercial negotiations, with a strong understanding of how strategic sourcing and contract management contribute to operational performance and value creation.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budget ownership, business planning, and investment justification.
- Experience using workplace data, utilisation metrics and operational analytics to improve decision-making and service outcomes.
- The ability to balance strategic planning with a practical understanding of facilities, operations, and workplace service delivery.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with credibility at Executive Board, Partner and senior leadership level.
- A passion for creating workplace environments that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and client experience.
