The application stages
1. Online application
Complete our application form. This is your first opportunity to tell us who you are and why you want to join RSM.
2. Online assessment
Complete a scenario-based strengths assessment, which includes a numerical reasoning component and an assessment of your AI literacy. Once invited, you'll have seven days to complete it.
3. Service line job simulation
This assessment is tailored to the role you've applied for and combines video interview questions with written ranking-response exercises. You'll have seven days to complete it. This is where we begin to gain a deeper understanding of how you think and approach workplace situations.
4. Assessment centre
Attend a half-day virtual assessment centre where we'll see how you think, collaborate, and approach different challenges. It's also a great opportunity to learn more about RSM, meet members of the team and get a feel for what it's like to work with us.
5. Digital assessment
For some Digital programmes, candidates who progress beyond the assessment centre will complete an additional virtual assessment. You'll work through an interactive case study and present your recommendations, giving you the opportunity to showcase your skills, enthusiasm, and potential for a career in Digital at RSM.
6. Final interview
Our final stage is an in-person interview at one of our offices with a senior member of your chosen business area. Depending on the role, there may be additional exercises included on the day. You'll also have the opportunity to meet current RSM trainees, learn more about the role, team and career opportunities available to you at RSM.

To help you prepare, our Candidate Preparation Zone provides details on the key skills and behaviours we assess throughout our asessment process. You can access our Candidate Preparation Zone by signing up here.
We are committed to providing an inclusive recruitment process and supporting all candidates who may require reasonable adjustments during our assessment process. As different stages of our assessment process are delivered in different formats (for example, online assessments and in-person interviews), your adjustment needs may vary throughout the process. If you need any adjustments at any stage of the process, please indicate this on your application form so we can support you appropriately.
Application
AI can help you refine your CV or application, improve clarity and structure, and research RSM, our programmes, and the recruitment process. However, all content you submit must be your own. You should always review, understand, and take responsibility for any information included in your application. AI should not be used to exaggerate, misrepresent, or invent skills, qualifications, or experience.
Assessments
AI can be helpful when preparing for assessments, allowing you to familiarise yourself with different assessment formats, practise your approach, and build confidence in advance.
However, AI must not be used during any online or in-person assessment. We want to see your skills, ideas, and potential, so all assessment responses should be entirely your own. Using AI to generate responses during a live assessment may negatively impact your outcome.
Interviews
AI can support your interview preparation by helping you research the role, practise potential interview questions, and organise your thoughts and experiences. However, avoid relying on scripted or AI-generated answers during the interview itself. We want to get to know the real you, so use AI to enhance your preparation rather than replace your own voice and experiences.
We're not looking to catch candidates out. AI is part of working life, and we use it ourselves in many areas of our business. However, AI is never used to make hiring decisions. We simply ask that you use it responsibly and transparently, ensuring that your application and assessment outcomes genuinely reflect your own capabilities. If you're unsure where the line is when using AI, your school or university careers service can offer advice and help you understand how to use these tools appropriately during the recruitment process.
