Biography
Paul heads the competition team at RSM, and has significant experience acting on European Commission and UK competition cases. He has extensive experience of divestment remedies and long-term behavioural undertakings.
He has acted as Monitoring Trustee on a range of complex cases across many sectors, including: Takeda / Shire; gategroup / Lufthansa; RHI / Magnesita; Vodafone / Liberty Global; INEOS / Solvay; International Chemical Investors Group; Altice / Portugal Telecom; Unilever / Sara Lee Body Care; Circle Health / BMI Healthcare; Bottomline Technologies / Experian; JLA / Washstation; Lafarge Tarmac; UHS / Cygnet / Cambian; Iron Mountain / Recall; Acadia Healthcare / PIC / Priory Group; HCA Healthcare; Global Radio / GMG.
Paul is also a senior partner in our corporate finance business, and has considerable experience acting on transactions, in particular divestments for FTSE-100s and other large groups internationally, together with distressed and accelerated M&A working with corporates, private equity funds, banks and management teams.
He also acts on City Code cases, and is currently acting as Supervisor on behalf of the Takeover Panel in respect of Advent / Cobham, and Melrose / GKN.
Paul has extensive experience of working internationally, and has undertaken on-the-ground roles in the UK, the US, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland. He also has experience of monitoring businesses / assets across other jurisdictions, including the Middle East, Turkey, Pakistan, Brazil, and Australia.
Paul is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW).
